Atmosphere Generators

Exothermic Gas Generators

Thermo Transfer manufactures a complete line of endothermic, exothermic, nitrogen (molecular sieve) and dissociated ammonia gas generators. The endothermic gas generators can be gas or electric heated. The exothermic gas generator can be supplied with a boiler to produce steam as well as generated gas. Refrigeration and dryer systems are also available for the exothermic and ammonia dissociator gas generators.

Process:
Exothermic Gas is produced by burning a hydrocarbon fuel (natural gas, propane or butane) with air. The product gas is then cooled and condensate is removed through a trap.

Equipment:

An Exothermic Gas Generator consists of a refractory lined water cooled combustion chamber …

Endothermic Gas Generator

Thermo Transfer manufactures a complete line of endothermic generators. The size of the unit varies from 250 SCFH to 9,000 SCFH. Endothermic gas is produced by a reaction of air and a fuel gas (natural gas, propane or butane) at high temperature. The reaction itself is endothermic as it requires an external heat to maintain the temperature necessary for the reaction. This external heat can be electric or gaseous fuel. Typically the gas produced contains approximately 40% Hydrogen, 20% Carbon monoxide, 0.5% methane and 39.5 % Nitrogen. The dew point of the generated gas is usually 30° F to 35° F and can be varied between 0° F to 35° F.

FEATURES:

  • Gas or Electric heating system

Dissociated Ammonia Atmospheric Generator

Thermo Transfer manufactures a complete line of dissociated ammonia generators. The size of the unit varies from 150 SCFH to 8,000 SCFH. The generator provides 75% Hydrogen and 25% Nitrogen by cracking anhydrous ammonia at high temperature in presence of catalyst. The reaction itself is endothermic as it requires an external heat to maintain the temperature necessary for the reaction. This external heat can be electric or gaseous fuel. The product gas dew point is typically between -60° F to -40° F. Metallurgical grade ammonia is recommended because of high purity as feed.
